Evening in City Series
James Cook
Highly Limited Art Print

My latest artwork, Evening in London, captures the bright, chaotic energy of Piccadilly Circus. Following on from my series of pieces such as Evening in Times Square and Evening in Tokyo, this is the first work created using my newly restored 1950s Olympia SM3 travelling typewriter, whose attachable legs finally made on-location typing possible.

The piece took four weeks to complete and is filled with hundreds of tiny characters and stories. The piece follows a “search and discover” approach. Instead of Waldo, try to spot me by the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain in my red jumper, typing where I sat.

Look closely and you will uncover countless details: a distracted cyclist, a phone thief mid-chase, and a man feeding London’s pigeons. Hidden messages are woven throughout. The longer you look, the more you will find.

FAQs
How long will my print take to arrive?

All artworks are produced to order. Fulfilment times apply before shipping, as each piece is individually printed, framed where applicable, and carefully packaged by hand.

Standard dispatch targets are as follows:

Print-only orders: typically dispatched within 1–2 working days of order acceptance
Framed prints: typically dispatched within 10 working days

James ships worldwide, and delivery times may vary depending on your location. Most orders will be dispatched in a few days, but in some cases this can take up to 4 weeks. You’ll receive full tracking details as soon as your order is on its way.

Will I need to pay customs fees?

All unframed and framed print orders are not affected by the recent postal changes in the USA and continue to ship tariff-free and without disruption.
There are no customs fees for orders delivered to the UK, EU, or USA.

For some other international destinations, there is a small chance that local customs fees or import taxes may apply. For full details, please refer to your country’s customs guidelines here.

The only exception to the above is for 'Floating Frame' (very limited edition of 5) prints. These frames are handmade in the UK, and non-UK customers may be required to pay local import taxes upon delivery due to the nature and value of the frame.

All other framed prints remain tariff-free and import-tax-free internationally.

How will my print be packaged?

For the UK, EU, and the rest of the world (ROW), items up to 42cm on the long edge (A3 size) are sent flat in an envelope, while anything larger is shipped rolled in a tube.

For the US, anything larger than 12"x16" will be sent in a tube. This policy helps ensure that items are shipped in the most appropriate and safe manner based on their size and destination.

What are the print sizes?
  • 8.3″ × 11.7″ (21 cm × 30 cm) without frame; 9.3″ × 12.6″ (23.6 cm × 32.0 cm) including frame
  • 11.7″ × 16.5″ (30 cm × 42 cm) without frame; 12.6″ × 17.5″ (32.0 cm × 44.5 cm) including frame
  • 16.5″ × 23.4″ (42 cm × 59 cm) without frame; 17.5″ × 24.3″ (44.5 cm × 61.7 cm) including frame
  • Frame Width: 0.45"
Are the prints archivable?

My fine art prints are designed to last, and are only printed on archival fine art papers using processes that maintain the details of my work. You will not be disappointed, the print is breathtaking and holds the highest details that are contained in the image.

What's the policy on return?

My work is made to order, so we cannot accept returns. However if your print is damaged in transit, or in the very unlikely event that it arrives with a defect, we will replace it.

What if my print gets damaged in transit?

If a print gets damaged in transit we will replace it. We will ask for some images or video of the damage so we can supply this to the shipping service to cover the insurance.

How long will this print be available for?

Until midnight on May 7th, 2026. I don’t know if or when this artwork will be available again.

Can I make changes to my order after purchasing?

  • Your shipping and billing addresses are correct, as these cannot be updated afterwards.
