A recurring theme in my work is how one project often leads to another. This was the case with my panoramic series of London artworks from 2021. After creating the view of Trinity Buoy Wharf, the buyer of the original piece, who lives in an apartment visible in that artwork, offered not only to purchase it but also access to their residence in South Quay Plaza.
From the 45th floor, I was inspired to create a new piece showcasing the breath-taking panoramic views across Canary Wharf. Concealed within the artwork are many hidden references to local businesses and London boroughs visible in view. During Christmas 2021, I contracted COVID-19, turning this into a quarantine project that I worked on from my bedroom for two weeks. The views from South Quay Plaza are truly remarkable, allowing visibility for approximately 40 miles on a clear day.
This project proved to be my most challenging yet, as capturing a wide 180-degree perspective and aligning each sheet of paper presented significant difficulties. This artwork was one of the crowning achievements presented in my 2022 April Exhibition of work at Trinity Buoy Wharf. The original artwork was presented to the customer at the preview evening of this event. This is a second edition release measuring 100cm x 45cm and is a limited edition of 200.
