Beatrix Potter – Author of The Tale of Peter Rabbit

This portrait celebrates Beatrix Potter, beloved for her timeless children’s tales and exquisite illustrations. More than a storyteller, she was a naturalist, land conservationist, and a fiercely independent woman navigating the Victorian literary scene. Typed entirely by hand over the course of one week, this A4 artwork is rich with hidden messages exploring her creative battles, personal losses, and quiet defiance of societal norms. Each artwork is appended with a type-written certificate of authenticity.

Each piece is hand signed and forms part of Authors in Type, my most ambitious project to date, a book featuring 50 typewritten portraits celebrating literary icons through history.
