In July, I travelled to Oxford to create a unique piece of typewriter art in collaboration with the Bodleian Library. I was granted special permission to work on location in the heart of Radcliffe Square, home to one of Oxford’s most iconic landmarks—the Radcliffe Camera. This 18th-century Palladian-style building is not only a stunning architectural feat but also the earliest example of a circular library in England. It remains a working part of the central Bodleian Library complex.
Armed with my trusty 1930s Smith Premier typewriter, a table, and a folding chair, I set up on site to capture the building’s grandeur. Hidden within the artwork are numerous typed references to Oxford, including facts about the library, notable books it holds, and alumni who studied at the university.
The original artwork is available in A3 in size (42 cm x 29.7 cm), framed with a white border and black frame.
The prints are also available as a limited edition of 200 prints in A4 size (29.7cm x 21cm), A3 size (42cm x 29.7cm) and A2 size (59.4cm x 42cm) with optional framing.
